Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Travelling home from Sunshine Coast to Dubbo. Originally called into this roadside food area due to Subway sign. But as we parked we noticed Thai. We're very pleased with having Thai for dinner. Restaurant must be quite new. Dining area spotlessly clean. Quick pleasant service. We ordered chicken red curry, chicken and cashew stir-fry and rice. Both meals arrived quickly and were very flavoursome and delicious. Need a bit more signage so travellers know they can get a quick delicious meal. Lots of parking in the area."
"I normally associate Laksa with Malaysian cuisine, but this dish was absolutely wonderful. The seafood was cooked perfectly - not an easy job given how squid in particular has a propensity to overcook. Loved the contrast in texture - the bean shoots and what appeared to be fried wonton wrappers gave a lovely crunch. The broth was much more nuanced than a typical Laksa and quite delicate. Constructive criticism - more chilli please! Decor is minimalist allowing your focus to remain on the food and other people."
"Eat Thai@Eastville delivers a truly authentic Thai culinary experience. Signature dishes like Tom Yum Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Red Curry, and Green Curry are crafted with traditional Thai herbs and spices. The flavors are bold, fresh, and well-balanced. If you're a fan of spicy food, ask for extra hea, they’re happy to accommodate and the spice level is genuinely Thai-style . Service is generally fast and friendly, even during busy hours. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant boasts a modern and clean interior, with a cozy ambiance. While the space is visually appealing."
"Stopped here randomly on our way past and turned into some of the best Thai food we've had in Australia. It was the most delicious food, cooked fresh and fast and customer service was fantastic. Might become our new fave spot everytime we drive through Toowoomba"
"Dined at Eat Thai@eastville Toowoomba tonight & the service was outstanding! The building internally is beautiful, restaurant is very modern & clean. For atmosphere I've given 4 stars because the echo in the room is a bit & quite loud when it's full. Our meals of satay chicken for entree was delicious, chicken was cooked perfectly tender & the satay sauce was nutty with a warmth at the end of the pallete. Mains of red curry was requested mild but was a bit heavy with spice unfortunately. Coconut rice was fragrant & creamy & pairs lovely with the curry. Food was delivered fast even though they were quite busy. It was lovely to see that the kitchen was very clean & chefs tidy attire also. Will be recommending & returning."
"Delicious food, friendly staff and very clean environment."
"Went here due to the choices of others. Eat Thai@eastville is a surprising island of excellence in the sea of mediocrity that is often used to describe the local culinary scene. Upon entering the restaurant, I was astounded by the lovely decor - a modern twist on classic brutalist shapes and tones that one would expect inside contemporary forward-thinking 1970s architecture. The seats were padded, relaxing and inviting for eating and conversation at a relaxed pace. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was flavoursome, generous and well-priced. The dishes found a balance between traditional Thai flavours and not being too beholden to basic western tastes. Our party of seven all enjoyed their choices and several had meal-envy so many dishes were shared. A few of us went back to the 20th century with a fried ice cream dessert which was a delight. Overall, five stars. We will be returning for dinner again soon."
"Visited Eat Thai and had a somewhat mixed experience. There is no signage outside the establishment, nor visuals indicating location/presence. Placed order, and while we were excited to try the dishes, the fish cakes arrived burnt. The chicken satay skewers had a very salty sauce, and were unevenly cooked - the chicken was over cooked on one (bottom) half, had some concerns about whether it was undercooked on the other (top) half. The spring rolls had a pretty thick skin and lacked filling. I noticed there wasn’t an individual dessert menu available. When I inquired about the deep-fried ice cream shown on the banquet meals, I learned it was not able to be ordered. We ran out of water during our meal, and while the empty/used dishes were promptly taken away on various occasions, we didn't receive any more water - plenty of dishes on the table still being eaten - and needed to walk up to the front counter to request more water. Tom kha soup arrived with a large serving spoon in a big bowl, however no smaller bowls for individual servings was provided. The tom kha was creamy but was again on the salty side and lacked the flavour expected. The mains arrived and were beautifully presented, which I appreciated. I found the Pad Thai had a strong tomato sauce and egg flavour, while I truly enjoyed the Pad See Ew. The coconut rice had a lovely fragrance, though it lacked the aroma and flavour typical of such rice. The green curry was ordered as 'Thai hot', but it turned out to be only slightly spicy and very sweet, with lots and lots of bamboo but only a small amount of chicken. The restaurant has a modern, minimalist decor, and I appreciated the easy, free parking available in the Eastville complex. Overall, while there were some aspects to improve, the food presentation of the westernised dishes was commendable, and I appreciate the effort the team puts into the display, decor and cleanliness of the restaurant."
